Here is a promo...
BBC televison (foriegn TV in general) is much better than american TV in my opinion. Not only do they not airbrush or over make people up but the writing and acting always seem better too. Plus there is nudity which would be deemed "filth" here in america.Last week i saw boobs, lesbian sex, a ball sack and a penis (these last two were two seperate scenes) in an hour and a half. Their news is way more in touch and impartial than our news too. It is maddening to think how much crap we get on TV like for example: Icon type shows (ie; American idol, So you think you can dance, rockstar, etc.) stupid reality TV (real world, the gauntlet, laguna beach/the hills, all the other MTV garbage),the terribly biased news (ahhem FOX i'm looking in your direction), and our terrible remakes of good shows (The office, coupling, twilight zone). This is not to say that there is not bad forign TV because there is, its just that the amount of quality excedes ours and we have the larger market. There is however some good television coming from the US, most of which gets canceled right away or under promoted (see; Arrested Development, Futurama, etc.) or only on premium channels ( See; Sopranos, Weeds, Big Love), or both (See; Carnivale). and there are a feww little gems still running and in my opinion are still decent; The Simpsons which is in its 17th season and is still funny (although not as funny as say season 6), Project Runway (which i think is a quality show because it brings some class and some interesting ideas to the table), Adult swim has decent programming, Comedy Central has some decent programming too (Especially the alternatively biased Daily Show and Colbert Report and Chapelle Show)although they also have some garbage too (Reno 911, Mind of Mencia), and finally Conan who is miraculously funny after being on since 1993. Well enough of my tyrade about television, because Honestly I don't even watch all that much of it (contrary to how this post may seem). This weekend will hopefully be full of fun surprises, and hopefully I get some work done! So for the weekend I leave you with another video... this one rules hard...

it just seemed so contrived and parts where I felt like i was supposed to "well up with tears" i just didn't feel it. Do yourself a favor and just rent the cartoon movie*1 I think it is much better.
Here is a link to download the first unicorns album which was never properly released (+ some good demos). They are in .ogg format but you can play them in winamp or most media players. There are also converters to make them mp3's if you must. The sound quality is better than with mp3's. If I were you i would download these ASAP as this band no longer exists ( the singer is now in the band Islands)so this page won't be around forever!

Starting friday I helped T move to her new place.
This included being very tired and sweaty, carrying a tv up two flights of steps... by myself, stepping on a little dog, flipping a 200 lb dresser over my legs, slushy bottles of water in the freezer, and finally getting drenched on my walk home from leaving uhaul. This drenching included my cell phone dying (and thus making me nervous all weekend)a ruined pack of camels, and a ruined pack of TOP papers). Anyways I went to brooklyn and zoned out for 36 hrs which included a batman returns audiocassette game *1,
and recording 6 new demo tracks for The Rev. today went to St marks and passed up a guide to cinema psychos*2 and finally seeimg someone on the bus with his laptop in arabic which i had only ever seen in magazines. Now i am home and my phone works and i am going to eat...oh yeah check out the new plastic little video...these dudes are the shit (and they are friends of mine)

BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!!
Well I realized that no one wants to become an LJ member and myspace has too many distractions so I am now a blogspotter. Beside that's what's cool anyways :B I have recently become fascinated with MP3 blogs so I am going to try and make this fun by linking stuff I find (and stuff I post once my website is up). So as my first post I want to talk a little about Blogging. I am fascinated by this whole new trend. I have recently been have a conversation with lots of different people about how technology has made our lives very very different, from what they were say 5 - 25 years ago. Just think about cell phones alone. If you call someone and they don't answer you tend to get pissed because they always have there phone on them...remember when we got calls at home? And if someone was out they were out and it was tough shit figure another plan out. How about cable and "news stations" like CNN, CNBC, FOXnews, etc. News has become so irrelevant for the most part, in order to fill time. Newspapers have been going digital and all that jazz. Whatever, this is not to say I hate technology, obviously I love it or I wouldn't be writing a "Blog" at all. Things i really do enjoy about technology and am glad to have been a part of the history of... Video games: I am so glad to have gotten into video games at there beginning. Sure, I suppose being born in 82 (yes I was a Reagan baby) makes me not exactly ground floor with pong in the mid seventies and the arcade popularizing in the late seventies along with Atari, but for the most part video games were the wave of the early eighties. I got an NES in 86 and it was my favorite thing ever back then. I remember my dad getting the legend of Zelda for my mom and we ended up being the ones to play through it ( my mom deserves big ups for discovering the warp zone in Super Mario Brothers, at the end of level 1-2 she was all "can I jump up on top there?" and dad and I were like" no just go in that pipe" so she tries it anyway and makes it... we were dumbfounded) So yeah seeing the Sega/Nintendo race and taking sides, Turbo Graphix 16, Playstations, seeing systems die out (neo geo, jaguar, the aforementioned TG16, even Virtua-boy), Next-gen systems, all of it is so incredible to me. I could seriously talk about this forever. So...I am also a huge fan of MP3's and the digital music revolution...which is really the topic I sort of started with. I think that digital music is the best thing that has ever happen to the music industry. It really gives us as artists a chance to expose ourselves, and as fans a chance to really show what we are actually interested in. Sites like mp3.com, myspace.com, audiogalaxy.com, garageband.com, all gave us a chance to show our stuff to people everywhere. Not that that many people are going to discover my little punk band from bumblefuck, but if one person gets exposed to us and really likes it that means the world to some of us. One example of this happened very recently to me... My old band, Are you my mother, has a myspace site and a girl from Seattle e-mailed us and told us that she really loved the 4 songs we had posted on the site. She had even made one of them her profile song. Anyway Ben (our guitar player) e-mailed her back sayin "if you are a real person not some ad" we would send her a CD. Well she responded that she was indeed "real" and that she would love a cd, but that she was worried that we would stalk her. Well I wrote back and assured her that I live on the other side of the country and that the chances of me going 3000 miles to stalk her were pretty slim, and thus she sent me her address. I mailed her a copy of the cd and she wrote me back recently about how much she loves it and how she played it at a party and everyone was like "who is this band!?!? They are AWESOME!!" Which was totally rad to me. Now the purpose of that band was strictly to have fun and prove that you could play in a band even if you were not a virtuoso (I know that the punks already did this in the late 70's, but I am sure I will talk about this subject in a later blog) So for us the best part of playing was giving others enjoyment (as well as ourselves). So for this correspondence to have occurred was really exciting for me. SO in conclusion Technology is not all bad (especially MP3's and Video Games) some technological advances are annoying (chirp phones) and I like blogging...wait that is a lame ass way to end my first blog...So I will end it with a good picture I took and some links to some of my friends good bands on myspace (including my own), and some other good links… ;)
LOVE,
